Get Local Stations On Swyft TV
As you probably know by now, Swyft is retiring our traditional cable TV services after May 31, 2024.
As a result, all the local stations, cable networks, and premium channels we offer will be moving over to Swyft TV, our new video streaming service that was built to replace legacy cable packages. This means that customers who have our TV services delivered via coax cable will need to switch over to Swyft TV if they want to maintain a similar type of cable lineup.
If you already have our high-speed fiber or cable internet service, switching to Swyft TV is a fairly easy process. However, since having our internet service is required to get Swyft TV, those customers without a Swyft internet plan may find the process is a bit more involved. Those customers would need to schedule an install for internet service.* Not all services are available in all markets, so we suggest you take one of the following actions:
- Call (833) 467-9938 and speak to a representative.
- Visit https://my.swyftconnect.com and log into your Swyft account, select your new services, and then schedule your installation.
- If you have not already created an account, click to https://portalsignup.swyftconnect.com to create your account and get login credentials. You will then be able to manage and change your services.
Swyft TV lets you watch Local Stations, National networks, and Premium channels.
Local Stations are part of every Swyft TV package
We understand that Swyft TV may not be the best solution for all our customers…that’s why we made it a completely optional add-on service. There are many other streaming platforms that may better fit your viewing habits (here’s some good Google search results). But if watching LOCAL STATIONS is important to you, then we encourage you to consider Swyft TV! No matter which tier of Swyft TV you choose, your local broadcast stations will be included.
Your DMA determines the local stations you receive
Just like with most traditional cable systems, the local stations that are available on your Swyft TV subscription are determined by which “Designated Market Area” in which you live.
The U.S. is divided into 210 Designated Market Areas (DMAs), and each individual county/parish in the country falls into a specific DMA. The reason you may not be able to access the closest “over the air” channels to your home is because the local affiliates choose to be the ONLY affiliate of their network in the particular DMA. The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) enforces this by making cable and streaming providers only make the appropriate local stations available on their lineups.
We’ve created this DMA Map as a reference for customers to see which local stations they’ll have on their Swyft TV lineup. Plus, we’ve included the entire lineup of channels available on Swyft TV.
